This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students and I have embarked on the distance learning journey! We are actively engaging in the challenging new and unexpected way of online way of learning new things. My parents and students are trying their best, but the language barrier makes it difficult for them to complete their work. My students are trying their best to participate by sending pictures and videos of their completed work on the ClassDojo website. We participated on video meetings to go over new material, and to check in with each other. In addition, I am recording lessons at home for them to view and continue to learn new material. I am amazed by their level of engagement and participation, and families' willingness to try new things.
My Project
I am requesting storage bins to house my Kindergartners personal math and alphabet centers. It is so important to have easy and quick access to materials in Kindergarten. It is in Kindergarten that children begin to learn the importance of organization. Having their personal centers and materials in labelled bins, helps them find what they're looking for with ease while keeping them safe.
These storage bins will give students the opportunity to access their materials quickly and not lose precious learning time trying to find what they need.
In addition to the organization, these simple bins will help them become independent. They will learn to appreciate that everything in the room has a home.
