My Students
My students have mild to severe mental and physical disabilities. These young people, and their families, face challenges each day that most people don't even have to think about. They are strong and capable. They demonstrate joy in a way that inspires the people around them.
My Project
In our Basic Skills class, my students who have mild to severe disabilities, are learning how to be more independent in their daily living. They are learning how to cook, clean, budget, plan trips and experiences. With these lessons students are learning how to be safe. Practicing using fire extinguishers, first aid kits and having identification bracelets are things I would like to add to my students life lessons. It is my goal to help them live more safely and help their parents/guardians feel more confident about their child's safety and well-being.
