I am a first year teacher working at a Title I, Expanded Learning Time School. My first grade students come from various cultures, income levels, and experiences. Due to low income and poverty, our students all receive free breakfast, lunch, and a snack.
Despite the challenges many of my students face on a daily basis, my students come to school with an enthusiasm and love for learning!
As I look around my classroom, I see 24 very unique personalities, all with different learning styles and needs. As a first year teacher, I want to give my students everything I can in order for them to succeed. I love watching my students grow as learners. I know that with the right tools, I can watch them soar higher than I ever expected!
My Project
My fabulous first graders will be returning to school in a couple of short weeks, after being remote up to this point! I am hoping to give my students their own personal box of tissues and a hand sanitizer to keep at their desks. I am also hoping to get some large bins to store their individual materials since sharing materials will not be possible this year.
My students’ safety is my priority!
During the first week of school we will review our new "staying safe" expectations. I am hoping to be able to give my students their own supplies so we can practice these procedures on the very first day they arrive.
