My students need safety and health supplies for daily classroom use and for field trips! Safety is our number one priority and keeping students healthy!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
These first graders are energetic, hard-working, determined students who love coming to school every day! The students live in a high poverty section of the city, and the majority of them receive free breakfast and lunch at school. We have a large population of ESL learners and are increasing our inclusion classroom settings each year.
These students are eager to learn, to explore, and to be challenged!
Our school is a small, close-knit community where our students are taught to believe in themselves and that anything is possible!
My Project
Keeping my first grade students safe and healthy is my number one job as their teacher. Bandaids are a classroom item that we go through very quickly. The students love to run and play at recess and that usually ends with a little bump or cut. We only have a part time nurse at our school so the teachers are the "nurses" in the afternoon. When we travel on field trips we are required to have a first aid kit and our current one is very outdated. The lysol and purell will help us daily after we blow our nose and use the bathroom. I like to spray the rug and desks at night during the winter months to help keep the germs away!
