My school has been considered a math and science school since its inception in 1957 and is still strong in STEM.
I mainly teach AP environmental science to 135 students who are highly motivated (generally!).
Many of my students will choose a STEM path in college, and pursue careers in these fields.
I also co-mentor the robotics team, and they rock! They always rank highly in competition and went to the World competition twice during the past three years.
Robotics has 37 members with half of the team being girls. I'm proud of this achievement.
My Project
Our robotics team is highly successful and students make custom parts for their robot on a regular basis.
Because they use lots of potentially dangerous tools, it is important to acquire safety gear, for their eyes and their hands.
I have the responsibility to return students to their families sound and safe at the end of each day.
The safety gear not only protects my students, but also it teaches them how to never work without protective equipment in their future lives. With the equipment, they can work better.
For all these reasons, I am requesting protective glasses, protective headgear, work gloves, and organizing equipment which will promote safety as well.
