Help me give my students a way to develop their social skills and imaginative play skills with the Pretend Play Market and practice safety and independence with safe steps to reach the sink.
My little learners are very social this year. Their imaginative play is developing, and their creative genius is growing leaps and bounds. Favorite interests are in our dramatic play area which currently includes a small kitchen, some play food, some babies, and a crib. They are also really enjoying our small block area where they are building places from their lives, such as Grampa's house! My learners love books, and we read multiple books daily helping them grow vocabulary, foster their critical thinking, and make connections to their daily lives in ways such as problem solving and social emotional skills, similarities and differences between characters, and compassion and caring towards others.
Creativity is where we're at!
My Project
The Pretend Play Market will be utilized for multiple units to help my learners engage more deeply in their social interactions during play time. The kitchen area is a favorite in my classroom, and the market will allow my learners to go shopping, sell creations, and have so many meaningful experiences. The market can be transformed to be a bakery, a movie snack stand, a doctors or vets office, and so much more.
I am also asking for a step stool to allow my learners to safely reach the sink.
Right now we are using boxes that are not super safe, especially for my learners with stability issues, to stand on. They need close supervision to wash their hands multiple times a day because of the set up, which does not allow for independence. We are hoping to remedy this with this multistep stool with handles.
I so appreciate your help in improving my classroom to make it safe and engaging for my learners.
