Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We live in a small agricultural town in the heart of the Central Valley. My students come from low income households and neighborhoods where crime is extremely prevalent. The classroom is a safe place where they feel cared for and valued.
My students work hard to take on the challenges life throws at them.
Many of my students are single parents or work full time while also being full time students. They strive for their high school diploma to better their lives.
My Project
We are living history right now! The "classroom" has changed from a place with rows of desks to our homes. Instead of working with my students in my classroom, I am now talking with them through text, email, and in the virtual classroom.
By having a Chromebook and video equipment for my iPad and iPhone, I will be able to better implement virtual teaching.
I plan to record myself completing lessons on topics so that my students can watch and learn at their own pace. I can also have a virtual classroom for my students when needed. Having these supplies would greatly impact the quality of my lessons!
