it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are highly motivated, highly diverse and highly dedicated to music and school. They love exploring sound and songs through our classes. They respect their equipment and love using the instruments and tools to further their learning.
My students work together in harmony to create harmony.
They explore our culture by singing and dancing to folk songs. They learn history by exploring the composers and their famous musical works. They learn about sound and instrumental technique by playing recorders, xylophones, drums, and ukuleles.
My Project
My students are returning to make music after being at home and isolated for five or more months. I want them to return to singing, playing instruments, dancing, and playing music games as quickly as possible. However, those activities will be extremely limited because of COVID-19's risk and the way it speads.
I am desperate to give them a sense of safety and normalcy in my music classroom.
Singing is a super-spreader activity, and I want to make sure that the kids feel comfortable with the limited amount of singing that we've been allowed to do. With the air purifier, the particles in the air will be cleaned more efficiently, and the risk of disease-spreading is less.
I look forward to returning to a new and better normal after the threat of COVID-19 is gone. I've learned a lot in the last six months, and there are a lot of good things happening during this terrible time. But, either way, I need to keep the students in my care safe now because they are coming back to school now. Please help us stay safe and healthy.
