My Students

The students I serve are from the side of Chicago which is considered a poverty-stricken area. Students look for our school to provide resources for social-emotional learning and mental health to help them heal from the trauma and the changes we are facing this school year. However, our school is one place where they feel safe and to know that they can express themselves.

My students are excited to jump into some physical activities with their peers due to the fact they haven't had the opportunity to socialize and participate in these kinds of activities.

They are thriving under several difficult situations including the impact of being unable to socialize with their classmates face-to-face as well as learning through technology and how it has changed the way they learn and socialize with their friends, family, and teachers.

As school counselor, I provide lessons which includes individual and group counseling and lessons on emotions, feelings, study skills, career development, and classroom management. I provide teachers with resources to cope with emotions, trauma, grief, self-esteem loss, conflict, depression, bullying, loneliness, stress, anxiety, and suicide.

My Project

My students will be able to use these equipment at school or at home to release any stress or anxiety after they have been given the instructions and guidance to use these equipment properly. In addition, these equipment will help them to stay fit as well as release any stress or anxiety that this Pandemic has caused our society.

In conclusion, it my goal to support my students socially and emotionally to improve their mental state to ensure that they have the tools and strategies to cope with their problems.
