Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing kids and I am thankful to be around them every day. I have visited every one of my students' homes and know where they come from. Many of my students come from non-native English speaking families, broken homes or limited resources.
Even though they struggle with things I cannot imagine going through as an adult, each student comes to school with a smiling face ready to learn and break the cycle of poverty.
My school goes above and beyond for these students and I am proud to be a part of it. We provide meals, clothes, extracurricular activities and before and after school care for parents.
My Project
My students will be returning to school in two weeks from eLearning. Since our students will not be able to share materials, your help could give all of my students their own materials to use in class.
Giving my students their own headphones, bags to take books home and reading telephones can help my students access their learning independently.
It is imperative that I continue to provide Social-emotional learning to my students. We will be using the journals to reflect, question and inspire others. My goal is to make the learning experience as normal as possible so these materials would help tremendously.
