This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
We are a neighborhood school that is located in the Morgan Park community on the southwest side of Chicago. We are a Pre-Kindergarten, Montessori, Low-incidence/Cluster (a program for students requiring a significantly modified curriculum with moderate to intensive supports) and International Baccalaureate Middle Years Educational Community.
We believe in the gift of every child to inspire and empower the future of our humanity.
I am asking for funds to purchase 400 safe solar eclipse glasses. The safe solar eclipse glasses would give our entire school, from the youngest to the oldest and everyone in between, the opportunity to safely participate in the amazing scientific observation happening on April 8th. Homemade viewers or regular sunglasses are not safe for viewing an eclipse, and could cause irreversible eye damage. Please consider funding our Safe Solar Viewing project!
