Safe Sensory Space

Help me give my students a sensory hideaway and cushion for a space they can get their sensory needs met.

My Project

My classroom is a self-contained autism classroom and my students have high sensory needs. The school does not have a space for them to get those sensory needs met so they can stay regulated and be ready to learn.

This project will allow these students to have a place to go and get their sensory needs met.

The sensory hideaway structure itself will be put in the calm down area of the classroom and the mat will allow it to be a comfortable place for them to go. This will give the students a safe place to go when they are dysregulated by giving them a enclosed space where there can regulate themselves. They will be able to sit/lay in the sensory hideaway structure and touch the inside of the structure to get their needs met.
