My Project
As a school therapist, I serve some of our school's most disadvantaged scholars. Many of them start their day carrying baggage from hardships at home, including food insecurity, trauma, and lack of community and are craving connection. These sensory toys and snacks are a simple yet effective tool used to break down the barrier when a student enters my office. It helps them feel comforted, safe and connected. The additional tools, art materials and whiteboards allow me to do creative activities with my students that have trouble finding their words. My daily mission is to give my students a place to lay down some of their burdens. Your donations will provide support today that will impact them for years to come.
