Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are part of a low-income community, and most of their families are field workers. The majority are English language learners who are working towards obtaining English reading proficiency. Living in the east part of Salinas has automatically labeled them as under-educated.

All students have potential.

The key is to offer them learning opportunities that will motivate them to achieve high educational goals. Our future generation needs a push, and we are the ones to offer them this opportunity.

My Project

We are ready to return to the class. Safety will be the key to continuing in-class learning. It seems that things are not getting better, so we need to take all the classroom safety precautions.

As we go back to class, personal protection is the key.

Once back, our children have a hard time remembering to wash their hands frequently, to keep a distance of 3 feet, and to avoid sharing materials. Having a chair pocket for each child will keep everyone's supplies separated.

Having their supplies near will encourage social distancing. There will be no need to move around to obtain necessary supplies, thus preventing any spread of germs.
