My Students

Take a moment to think about your kindergarten experience. Did you just get a feeling of nostalgia, too? Kindergarten was an amazing and fun time that taught you the foundations of reading, writing, and math. My students are getting that same experience, but we are in need of materials that will help keep us stay healthy, and fuel our brain!

The children I teach are energetic, wonderful, hardworking students.

Some of them come from situations that no one should ever experience. They impress me everyday with their awesome attitudes, and desire to learn. We are a full day kindergarten class at a Title I school. Most of our students qualify for the free breakfast and lunch program. The student population is 33% Caucasian, 26% Hispanic, 12% Asian, 11% African American, and 28% other.

My Project

The daily instruction that goes on at our school is rich, and engaging, and will help my students soar to incredible heights. That's why it is so important for my students to be present at school. Research suggests that students who attend school regularly are more likely to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance.

This year our school has faced crippling budget issues that have made it nearly impossible to provide resources that will keep our classroom healthy!

This project will help my students stay healthy and focused on their goals by preventing illnesses through the practice of proper hand washing techniques with the Meyer's hand soap, and sanitizing the classroom with Clorox wipes, and the Meyer's multi surface spray. My kiddos will also be able to fuel their brain with healthy snacks that will give them the energy they need in order to meet their daily academic goals. The supplies we are requesting will help maintain a healthy classroom environment for my students, which keeps them learning year-round. Thank you for your consideration.
