Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in Washington Heights. Most of our students come from a low socioeconomic status. A large population at my school are English Language Learners and special education. At my school, we are dedicated to creating life long learners. We strive to help our students achieve the best to their abilities. I share my inclusion class with a special education teacher, 2 paraprofessionals, and 25 kindergarteners. They come to school eager to learn and motivated to apply new skills every day. My goal as their teacher is to provide them with an unforgettable learning experience.
My Project
During these unprecedented times, my students will not be able to share materials like they are accustomed to. Students having their own set of materials will be the safest option. Having all of these things in the classroom will help me keep their belongings clean and organized. It will also make it easier to store in order for them to have easy access to their materials when they need them.
The cleaning supplies and face shields are extremely important during these times because I want to make sure we protect ourselves against this virus.
