Every student deserves a safe place within school. In my classroom I have a goal to give students a designated place where they can regroup, manage their emotions, and find tranquility during the school day. This space will include soft seating, a storage cart, calming sensory tools, and products needed for everyday life.
I'm a strong believer that it's harder for a child to learn when their basic needs aren't being met.
The school I'm teaching at has a large demographic of students below the poverty line. By providing students with the necessities of basic hygiene supplies, treats for incentives and rewards, and a safe place, then learning can take place.
I want these students to know how loved they are and that they will always have a safe space in my classroom. By donating to this project you will be helping students reach their potential by providing basic needs and giving them a safe place to learn and grow.
