This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The volleyball program at our school has been through a myriad of coaches the past few years and our equipment is in disarray. I stepped onto the court at our school to rebuild a program that has great, hardworking players that are eager to get better. We are a Title I school and do not have the funds in the community to donate basic practice equipment for a functioning, much less successful, program. My players deserve the chance to learn the game, grow and become the best possible student-athletes they can be.
These locks, zip ties and ball bags will allow us to protect our equipment at all times.
Currently, our equipment is stored in a shared facility with multiple sports, classes and people not always associated with our school. Various time throughout the year it is not uncommon to find our equipment on outdoor fields or being used improperly by other groups. These locks, along with zip ties, will secure the volleyballs and carts in the cages they are housed. The additional ball bags will allow us the ease of transporting our equipment safely to and from various locations.
