Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our fourth grade is full of wonderful students every year who are so excited to come to school! These fourth graders are always excited to learn, excited to collaborate with each other, and excited to spend time together. They love to talk, make us all laugh, and be leaders in our school.
We are a Title I school where the majority of our students receive free and reduced lunch, parents work multiple jobs, many are single parents, and where the students are not only learning academics from us but are learning how to be great people.
These students deserve the best education possible and the global pandemic has increased major gaps in their education which we are working hard to minimize.
My Project
Due to the pandemic that hit, many students have fallen behind in all subject areas. Science especially has been tough for students to truly grasp through online learning. Our fourth-grade students will be able to explore the structure & functions of plants & animals.
They will be able to explore fossils, all in a safe & sanitized way.
I want my students to have lots of experience with models, images, and be able to get their hands on some science, safely of course.
With cleaning supplies that are desperately needed in the classroom, students from 4 fourth-grade classrooms will be able to explore fossils, astronomy, animal, and plants as well as circuits! Our students deserve true exploration & collaboration!
