My students have more potential than they'll ever realize! I currently teach a class of varying ranges of intellectual abilities- specific learning disabilities, autism, and speech and language impairments.
One of the biggest challenges in my classroom is managing the varied levels of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) of my students.
The reality in my classroom is that I need to find ways to work with all the diverse needs I'm faced with. I believe that even with some students coming from a low income background or those who lack parental support, they all deserve the chance to meet their highest potential. It's a challenge I'm ready for!
My Project
The Flex-Space 2-Shelf Binder Storage Center is the perfect tool for my students to keep their organizational binders safe and in order. I provide my special education students with binders that hold their daily planner, designated take home folder, and pencil case. This binder is the key to keeping them organized and ensuring an effective method of parent/teacher communication.
I currently use a wire rack to have the students place them down on when they enter the room and many times, it's caused havoc!
The binders slide off each other and open up which leaves a mess of papers all over the place. The kids then need to take the time to clean up the mini disaster when they should be at their seats working. Having this storage center would alleviate that problem as well as keeping the binders in tip top shape!
