Help me give my students a place to securely store their painted projects to dry. We currently are struggling to keep our masterpieces safe and secure while they dry to be able to put them in our portfolios.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach students ranging from kindergarten age all the way up to fifth grade. These students come to school as a home away from home. We focus on their basic needs first and then do everything in our power to provide them with opportunities many will never see at home.
I have an amazing position as an Art Specialist and see EVERY SINGLE STUDENT that comes to our school on a rotating schedule.
Students get to come build their love of Art through hands-on projects year after year, progressing their skills and knowledge of the different mediums and techniques and they are developmentally ready.
My Project
In our art room, we try to cover a variety of projects using different mediums and materials. With that diversity, there are often projects that need somewhere to sit and dry safely as other groups are coming into the classroom to learn and create throughout the day. Having these drying racks would allow the students to be confident that their artwork will be safe and secure while it dries until the next time they are scheduled to come back and continue expressing themselves through their creations. Once dry, it can then be added to their portfolios where they can critique and reflect on their artwork throughout the year.
