Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have one first grade classroom, which is comprised of thirteen amazing students, many of whom come from bilingual households and receive free lunch. We live in a rural community with low income families who would love to help, but are unable too. Any help would be greatly appreciated to strengthen the learning environment of my room. Our school does not have the resources to provide all of the materials we need in our classrooms. Thank you for your generosity.

My Project

I want to make a specific area where my students can be comfortable and become stronger readers. At the moment, I have no specific reading area due to financial set backs. I am unable to provide this environment by myself. I believe it will help my students have the drive to read more. With your help, a new carpet and comfy floor seats can make our reading environment better than what is it now. Most of my students only get reading time during the school day. I am hoping that this will allow my students to get more reading time to help them with their reading scores and build their reading skills.
