My Students
My students, ages 14-17, come from all over the world. These students and their families are currently living in New York City, the greatest city in the world, during a global pandemic. I have not yet met my students face-to-face due to the circumstances surrounding this school year. This year has its added difficulties, but not seeing my students every day, getting to know what makes them laugh, and seeing their eyes light up when they grasp a topic has been the worst part.
Technology has been difficult for my students, and a physical copy of the book we are reading will give them a much-needed break from the screen and help them engage with the story in a different way.
My students are the highlight of my day every day during this pandemic. They deserve everything that a typical school year has to offer. I do not know when or if I will be in the classroom with my students this year, but I can at least give them a book to read.
My Project
After being remote for the past year and a half, many students and families are nervous about returning to the classroom.
These cleaning supplies will supplement what the school provides to maintain a clean and safe classroom.
I want all of my students and their families to feel safe returning to school in September.
Providing Purell, Kleenex tissues, Lysol, and Clorox wipes in my classroom will hopefully ease some of my students and their families' worries about returning to school. Safety is key to having a successful school year!
