Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Children in kindergarten are at the age where they can be feeling a lot of emotions and don't know how to identify them nor how to manage when certain emotions arise.
Please help me give my class a calming and safe space where they learn how to identify, process, and manage their emotions.
Our classroom itself should be a safe space for everyone, but I wanted to give them a special space where they can process their emotions without pressure from their peers or the situations in which they find themselves.
I believe that this space will help them manage their emotions in positive ways with my help as they discover their emotions and how to manage them.
The calming corner posters will guide them on recognizing their emotions and how to manage them. The rug and the fluffy cat stuffed toy together with a relaxing scent will provide them a cozy environment where they can sit as they assess their emotions.
