My Students

Firsties are a pretty special group of students! They love to learn and make discoveries about the world around them. It's exciting to work alongside them and see how the world opens up to them day after day, especially as they emerge as readers.

Our next school year is about to start and I'm so excited to see what adventures await our classroom community this year!

Thank you for considering supporting these wonderful children and helping to start their school year off with the tools they need to be 21st-century learners.

My Project

Technology is all around us, and for the more affluent schools, students have access to laptop carts or even classroom sets of iPads or Chromebooks. This simply is not the case for the equally deserving students at my rural school. Through the generous donations of others, we are slowing building up our Chromebook library and the addition of these Chromebooks will continue to allow more students to access this helpful tool during independent work time and during centers.

When it comes to ways that my students will be able to use these Chromebooks to enrich their learning, the possibilities are endless!

Imagine a student who has mastered the addition skills expected for her grade-level now being able to work independently on interactive enrichment activities while her teacher reteaches the basic lesson to the students who are struggling with the concept. Now imagine the student who isn't quite where he needs to be with his reading skills being able to double his practice time by accessing online texts that help him read the story so he can build his fluency and comprehension skills in addition to working with me during small-group time. Your donation will help to make this happen!
