This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in the city of Denver where schools are underfunded and overcrowded.

I teach 100 teenagers who talk fast, laugh loud, and work hard.

They work so hard despite the challenges placed in front of them. They may struggle to be on grade level, but it doesn't stop them in their passion for learning, it often makes them fight that much harder!

Each day my silly students walk into class wanting to learn despite the hand that has been dealt to them.

My Project

The materials I am requesting already have a place within my classroom. They have been dreamed about, have been planned around, and have been talked about. I just need your help in bringing this dream into a reality for my students and I. This iPad Pro will help run my classroom in an effortless way. I can quickly display primary and secondary sources on my projector. Seamlessly hand the iPad and Apple pen to a student to have them annotate the sources in real time as their classmates look on.

This iPad Pro will allow my students to create informational podcasts about the Chicano Movement, Human Rights, and Civic Responsibility.

This iPad will allow me to quickly grade work and encourage student growth with easy feedback mechanisms. This iPad will allow me to finally bring my class into the 21st century!

In whatever my students choose to do after they graduate, they will have to interact with technology in some way. By bringing in different types of technology and encouraging hands-on learning, my students will not only have an engaging classroom experience, but the tools they will need to succeed outside of the classroom.
