Running Club

My students need pinnies to help create teams so they can work together in improving their running times. We had over 60 students signed up this year for after school running club.

My Students

The students at James Madison are not only great but really enthusiastic about physical education. They enjoy the variety our program provides and like to help their younger counterparts as well. At our school I provide after school sports programs and the kids just can’t get enough of them. When most kids try to get home as fast as possible so they can spend time on their computer or play video games, our kids look forward to our after school sports and the comradeship it provides.

My Project

I founded a running club at our school last year at our elementary school. As an avid runner and someone who ran cross country, I have really been promoting running at our school. I wasn't sure how many would be interested but in the end, 90 or our 400 students signed up. That was quite exciting and something that made me proud.

This year was no different and our school grew to 500 students and we had a huge turnout again.

I would like to train for our city wide track meet. We hope to do really well and place in the top 3 with our relay teams. The pinnies will help create 8 different teams that will focus on teamwork as our students vary from 2nd to 5th grade. I am making our upper grade students become coaches for their team so that our future 5th graders can do for others as it was done for them. thank you
