Our classes are made up of 20 boys and girls of mixed races in Arkansas. We are a Title I School, which means we have a large enough group of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, with our numbers growing. Our school is one of twenty elementary schools in our district. Our students love engaging activities with lots of movement. These five and six year old students are very eager learners. Our students are like sponges and constantly want more!
Kindergarten classes always participate in a fun interacting unit on gingerbread including Runaway Gingerbread Man Loose in our School. However, we wanted to go above and beyond this year to make students' memories even greater! We want to transform our classrooms into a gingerbread oasis. Students would walk in on peppermint candy stepping stones to see giant candies, life size gingerbread men, and a wall display of a giant gingerbread house! Each class would have the opportunity for their students to take turns curling up with some pillows and read in our pop up gingerbread house! This experience would be a memory students would never forget!
