Help me give my students dressing up supplies and manipulatives for a transformed classroom resulting in increased student engagement for literacy as we make books come alive.

My Project

As a Kindergarten teacher, one of my ultimate goals is for my students to love books. To do that, I try to make the reading experience come alive. One of our reading objectives is to compare and contrast stories. I do this by reading different versions of the gingerbread man. We read The Gingerbread Man, The Gingerbread Girl, Gingerbread Cowboy, Gingerbread Baby, and so on. This grant will allow us to immerse into the gingerbread world.

Because of you, this book will come alive for students.

Students will hear the stories. But because of you, students will become bakers and will make gingerbread men that will run away and the students will use clues to find them. Students will get to create their own gingerbread scene.
