Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love learning in different ways. We are an ICT classroom in Brooklyn, NY.
My classroom is full of eager learners, who have many different learning styles.
I have many students who are English Language Learners. Many of my students are visual and tactile learners.
My students love learning new things and creating things to show what they learned. They like to share what they have learned with other classes in our school. Science and social studies are the subjects that my students love the most.
My students also love using technology to increase their learning and to share what they learned. My students continue to amaze me every day with their knowledge and love for learning.
My Project
In my classroom, we teach students with many different learning styles. We use different types of teaching styles to help reach all of our students. One of the teaching styles that my co-teacher and I use a lot is parallel teaching. This means we break our class into two groups and we each teach one group at the same time. When we break our class up, we use two different teaching areas in our classroom.
We need two rugs to help define our teaching areas.
It is so helpful for our students to have two different areas for learning. It makes it very easy to see where the teaching and learning takes place in our room when we have two rugs to help separate the areas. These rugs will not only define our teaching spaces but also help our students sit more comfortable while they are learning. I feel that if the students are more comfortable they will be able to focus on the lesson more. The rugs are super colorful and will match our under the sea theme very well. These rugs will help us create two wonderful learning spaces in our classroom.
