My Students

As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am trying to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.

My students are wonderful!

Our classroom is full of joy and excitement for learning every day. Our school is awesome but VERY limited with funding for our classroom needs. Many of my students are from very low income households, and I want them to love learning while having the supplies they need to be successful.

My Project

My students need rugs for 'tummy time'. Spending time on their tummy is not only good for babies, it's also beneficial for small children. By having these rugs, students can grab a rug, and place it anywhere in the classroom. They can use it to complete work or read a book while strengthening muscles!

'Tummy Time' is not just for babies!

This will help strengthen core muscles, which is so important for posture and stability. Increases strength in the shoulders, which provides stability for fine motor skills such as handwriting and cutting. It provides deep pressure for regulation and organization of their sensory systems. It encourages stability in the head and neck due to increased strength, and the eyes can take in more accurate visual information.
