This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'd love to give my 15 three year olds a great place to relax and play on the floor. The ones that we currently use are not school-grade quality. We can't vacuum them because they are too thin and the industrial school vacuums will destroy them and they don't always lay flat creating a tripping hazard for children and adults alike. They also aren't very comfortable and not always stable enough for them to build on. These two rugs from Lakeshore are both in calming colors that have been proven to help keep children from being overly stimulated throughout the classroom day. These rugs will provide a safe place for them to cozy up in in the cozy corner when they want to read a book on their own or it will provide a great safe play space where the children can build their creations using our various blocks. It also will provide a great meeting space for the children to sit on for morning meetings and our multiple read alouds throughout the day. I want to provide the best, safest and cozy place for my three year olds especially since most of them are experiencing school for the very first time and this classroom experience can help set up their future success!
