Rug, Rug, We Need A Rug!

My students need a new rug for our circle time area. Our current rug is old and soiled and has been through a lot!

My Students

Instilling a passion for reading and listening to stories is something our classroom strives for.

Our students all are affected by Autism.

We have a small class of students with difficulty with communication. Listening to stories is one of their favorite things. It provides them with the language models they need and the opportunity to use their imagination.

My Project

We are requesting a new round rug to use in our circle time area of the classroom. It will be a calming lavender color that is sure to encourage our students with sensory integration issues to sit back and relax. Busy colors and designs can be difficult for our students to deal with. Having a plain colored rug will promote calmness and students who are ready to learn.

Our new rug would provide our class with a relaxing, inviting place to sit and hear stories, do our calendar activities and receive Speech therapy and Occupational therapy group services.
