This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
After teaching kindergarten and first grade for a very long time, I am now a reading intervention teacher to our most struggling K-5 students. While I LOVE the new position, my new room needs your help. It is half the size of my previous room and my regular sized rugs simply do not fit.
We would love a new rug that fits our space and can accommodate 8-12 students comfortably!
I work with almost 100 students a year and we spend the majority of our time together on the rug. We use whiteboards while sitting on the carpet for dictation time. We sit knee to knee with our reading partners to practice fluency. We use our phonics skills to study words that are on the board all the while sitting on our rug.
The students I teach are hardworking, resilient, and full of potential. I cannot think of a more deserving group of children. Thank you for your time and support!
