My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many struggles in their daily lives, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences in a stress free environment.

My students are inquisitive, hard workers and inventive.

My students like to move around the room, work on the floor, and work together to complete assignments and projects. From the minute I see my students in the morning my focus is not just on their educational needs but their emotional needs as well. I focus on giving them a good experience at school where they feel wanted and encouraged to do their best!

My Project

Having a rug for my classroom, that is educational and comfortable can be used for many things. The rug I've chosen is a rug of the world so it can be used in geography and social studies. It can be used in reading for students to see where some of the places in their books they read are. The rug is also a place for them to come together as a class for meetings, a place to play for center time and so much more.

A rug helps to make a room more inviting for the kids that need a place to feel safe and inviting.

A rug is something that will last for many years and be a huge benefit to my students!
