This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Children in first grade learn about the genres "biography" and "autobiography." These beginner biography books will be perfect to begin a new school year learning to work and play together happily and safely.. Appreciating and celebrating what Ruby went through in order to have the inclusive schools that we so fortunatley have today is a lesson to help set a friendly tone in the classroom.

The amazing story of Ruby Bridges is one that all first graders should know, so that they may see the benefits we have today as a result of the hardships overcome by such an incredible young citizen!

My goal for this project is to instill a sense of empathy in students, a realization of what Ruby went through, and to put themselves in her shoes.
