My Students

I am so privileged to teach twenty-three amazing students from a middle-class community. Each child is unique and presents diverse challenges when trying to provide them with the best education possible. Their reading abilities range from a beginning reader to eleventh grade level, so meeting their individual needs require creativity.

The students enjoy reading with their reading partners and they are showing growth in literacy as we target their specific needs.

We are employing various research-based methods to not only increase their literacy levels but foster a love for reading that will last a lifetime.

My Project

Dyad reading is a program where students are paired up to read side by side in the classroom. Statistics show tremendous student reading progress using this program. Having these flexible seating chairs will allow students to sit comfortably side by side during dyad literacy time. They won't be distracted by an aching back as they sit beside their reading partner.

These chairs will allow me to reward students who are excelling in literacy skills, focus, and cooperation, with time where they can sit alternatively and comfortably.

This will give the students even more motivation to participate in this program and grow their love of reading.
