Help me give my students 40 royal robes to be worn daily by the class with the best behavior for the day.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our school is a diverse school that strives to build a positive culture where every student feels loved and valued. We are a Title I school and our students all receive free or reduced price lunch. A high percentage of our students are economically disadvantaged. Our school utilizes Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as a framework for promoting responsible, respectful and safe behavior through practices of teaching and recognizing appropriate behaviors. I cannot begin to describe the positive effect kind words and a loving culture has on the confidence learners. Positive behavior translates to Academic gains and higher rates of success in a multitude of areas.
Our students all know the behavior expectations, respond to positive support and seek to improve their behaviors, They are amazing!
They can state the behavior expectations and discuss what needs to be done to meet the expectations. Their face light up when every they are caught "being good".
At our school we recognize classrooms and individual students that work hard both academically and behaviorally. PBIS schools make a huge impact on the community by increasing graduation rates and reducing out of school suspensions. Better behavior equals better results! PBIS schools utilize incentives to reward and motivate one towards amazing behaviors and promote a loving culture. These incentives can be costly.
This project will enable our school to affordably motivate kids to be the best of the best behaviorally.
Royal robes will be used as incentives to promote competition among the classes for the best behavior. We utilize a point system to recognize student behavior. Our School is the RES Royals.
Each class will compete for the honor of wearing the royal robes for the day, earned by the class earning the most points. This is a simple project to promote positive behavior school-wide. This project is meant to support PBIS systems by creating meaningful rewards. PBIS is a powerful tool for boosting climate, and a powerful tool for fostering loving nurturing school-wide environments. This project is meant to support my school with their mission.
