My students are 6 and 7 year old children who all have the desire and ability to be anyone and do anything if they are just given the opportunity, encouragement, and tools!
Our class is made up of students from all backgrounds from all over the world.
They come in every day ready to see what new things they are going to learn about today. First grade was my favorite grade and it was the grade when I remember wanting to become a teacher. I want to be the kind of teacher that provides that kind of excitement and inspiration for my students as well.
My Project
My students are in need of new books to read to go along with the reading curriculum we purchased this year. It is hard as a teacher to provide all of the reading materials needed to fulfill all of my students needs as learners. Many of these books are hard cover or library bound which means they are meant to last. These books will be read by students for years to come. The storage containers help to easily organize the materials the the students have easy access to books on their interest level.
Having these resources will give my students a better opportunity to become not only better readers but more creative thinkers.
We will read the books as a class, then use them to do a weekly unit study. I will then put the books into our classroom library for our students to refer to throughout the school year. We need the storage boxes so we can organize our materials so they are easy for the children to access.
