My Project

I am asking for various picture for 1st grade for the Rooted Into Reading Program. Books like The Big Bed, Naughty Mabel and Hair Love will be part of a monthly unit that will be the centerpiece for comprehension, writing, grammar, and phonics lessons.

Rooted in Reading is a curriculum created to enhance Language Arts instruction in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-grade classrooms.

Rooted in Reading is based on a READ ALOUD where the teacher is reading to the students. The teacher models fluency, expression, thinking out loud, and understanding a text. This ensures that the students take all of those best practices and put them into place when they are reading independently. Having the actual book rather than listening to the story online will be more beneficial. This is a wonderful way to open children's minds to deeper reading and connection to the text!
