This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Aloha! Our 5th graders are passionate about caring for and restoring the IPES Orchard, a special outdoor space where they learn about native plants, sustainability, and the importance of mālama ʻāina (respecting and caring for the land).
To support their hard work, we are in need of two push mowers, gloves, pots, and sickles to help keep the orchard healthy and thriving.
With these tools, students will take an active role in maintaining the space, developing a sense of responsibility, and strengthening their connection to the environment.
