Rooted in Reading is based on a read aloud where the teacher is reading to the students. The teacher models fluency, expression, thinking out loud, and understanding a text. This ensures that the students take all of those best practices and put them into place when they are reading independently. Having the actual book rather than listening to the story online will be more beneficial. This is a wonderful way to open children's minds to deeper reading and connection to the text! My students love being read to and will be thrilled to have brand new stories to listen to!
