Our first grade classroom consists of some fun, active 6 & 7 year olds that are always on the go! What is the best part about first grade? When the "light bulb" turns on and we have a class full of fluent readers!
Many of the students will mention that meeting with their teacher in small groups is their FAVORITE part of the day!
Small group learning is used during our Language Arts block to ensure success for each and every student.
My Project
Help me give my students room to wiggle and wobble with a place to meet! This school year, I have implemented small, guided reading groups in my classroom. Meeting with students in small groups lets them learn at their level and makes each child successful.
Creating a small group area where the students can wiggle around, will help their concentration and help them become better readers.
We do not have a great place to sit so I can see all of the students' work and reach all students to hand out supplies or help them read.
Having a rainbow shaped small group table and wobble chairs would benefit each and every learner in our classroom by letting them get their wiggles out while learning at their own level in small groups!
