My Project
We are in the planning stage of planting a garden on our school yard. The intention is that this will become not only a school garden, but, a community garden as well.
Since our students live on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation, they are very secluded and cut off from the nearest cities.
It isn't always easy to access fresh fruits and vegetables on a regular basis. Through the implementation of our school and community garden, we will teach the students the skills to plant and maintain a garden, easing this burden.
Having the tools to take care of a garden will allow the students to have a hands on learning experience that will teach them about sustainability and prepare them for the future.
