How can students tumble without the appropriate mat? They can’t do any form of tumbling safely, yet my excited students throw cartwheels all over our hardwood gym floor.
My students are super active, with a lot of energy and want to do their tumbling stunts; they enjoy school and are excited to be in the gym.
Our students attend a Title I school and receive free lunch, breakfast, and snacks due to their low socioeconomic status. We have no school funds for P.E. equipment.
My Project
Lakeshore tumbling mats make all the difference in being safe and teaching how to do basic tumbling or use as a workout mat for skills sets. Lakeshore has free shipping of these colorful and safe tumbling mats that are perfect for students new to tumbling.
The padded tumble ramp is especially great for students with a fear for pushing their body forward in a roll.
Many of my students are overweight and it is difficult to squat down to begin the front roll. The ramp will make all the difference in getting started in a forward motion; gravity will do the rest. Gravity gives the extra push needed to execute the roll and will have the students running back in line to do it again and again. The ramp encourages doing the roll all by yourself.
