My students need more flexible seating options for next year. This type of seating has been so successful in our learning environment. Students have seen success and are confident and motivated!!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I ask them, "Who is the best first class in the whole world?" and they reply, "We are!" I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.
They love to see how successful they are.
They feel proud of the work they accomplish and I get to see a smile on their face that lasts a lifetime.
My students are bucket fillers, but more than that, they are kind, big hearted students who look toward each other for anchors of support.
My Project
This year has been so successful due to flexible seating. I read about the benefits and continue to provide my students with the best option for learning. This is an individual choice. Students get to choose which seat works best for them to attend to their learning.
Most students choose seats that they can move in to get a sensory break while learning.
This eliminates the need for outside sensory breaks and allows more time in the classroom.
I asked for more standing desks because these have been a huge success. Students get to swing their leg while working. I also asked for seating options such as comfy floor seats, comfy couch and portable lap desks, that are a little different so that I have even more options for next year!
