My Project
Early literacy is the foundation for future academic success. To support my students in developing essential reading and math skills, I am requesting funding for a mobile book cart, magnetic letters and numbers, and a collection of new board books. These materials will create an engaging, literacy-rich environment where children can explore books, letters, and numbers in a hands-on, meaningful way.
A mobile book cart will allow students to access books independently throughout the day, fostering curiosity and a love for reading.
Many of my students come from diverse backgrounds and may have limited access to books at home, making classroom exposure to literature crucial. Having books readily available will ensure that reading is an integral and natural part of their daily routine.
In addition to books, magnetic letters and numbers will provide an interactive way to build letter recognition, word formation, and early math skills. Young children learn best through tactile experiences, and these tools will encourage them to manipulate letters and numbers in ways that reinforce foundational literacy and numeracy concepts.
The addition of new board books will support language development, comprehension, and print awareness. High-quality, age-appropriate books with diverse characters and engaging visuals will allow students to expand their vocabulary and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
My students are eager, curious learners who thrive in an environment filled with exploration and discovery.
