This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our 5th grade teaching team prepares students for the annual Physical Fitness Gram test which consists of running a mile, pacer, push-ups, curl-ups, flexibility, and the trunk lift. Every morning 100 fifth graders assemble on the blacktop with their yoga mats to strengthen their cores and to improve their cardio.
100 yoga mats must travel from the classrooms to the yard each morning.
That many yoga mats are hard to move. Storing the yoga mats in wagons will lighten the load and keep the yoga mats organized. Unfortunately, the yoga mats are always unrolling as they move from the yard to the classroom. The straps will help the yoga mats stay rolled and can easily be secured by a 5th grader.
