Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My classroom implements Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Students earn PBIS points using the PBIS Rewards application for being respectful, showing integrity, being safe and having empathy to others. They can also earn points by coming to school on time and wearing standard attire. They earn points throughout the whole school (the Specials teachers, administration other teachers, etc. can give them points). The system promotes positive reinforcement instead of negative. Once points are earned, points cannot be subtracted. This creates a positive learning environment and increases effective social and emotional development. Students shop at the class store every Friday using the points they receive. They can either redeem their points for a prize or save them to earn even a bigger one!

Shopping is fun and easy with a consistent organization system!

This cart will hold 16 different prizes to be sold at our class store. This will allow me to ensure favorite items are always stocked and ready for purchase. It will also help students shop quickly when time is limited.
