Rolling into Engagement: Flexible Seating

Help me give my students tractor seats stools as a flexible seating option. I have one stool already that I use and my second graders love it! I want a set for my teacher table.

My Students

My students are very energetic and excited about school. They love to learn and make new friends. They are also so kind and supportive. As second graders, they are learning to advocate for themselves and what helps them succeed in the classroom.

Students need a variety of tools to be successful in the classroom.

My students love having flexibility in how they learn every day. They are experimenting with how and where they learn best as they grow as individuals from lower elementary to upper elementary.

My Project

These eight tractor stools will be used at my teacher table during small group instruction as well as for flexible seating options during independent work time. My personal seat is a pink version of this stool and my second graders fight about getting to use it.

There is nothing like a fun stool to create engagement in the classroom.

The ability to move, twist and roll helps students who need some movement to focus. And the tractor seat is a connection to my personal life growing up on a farm and having the old fashion tractor seats in my own home!
